This workshop is for artists, educators and facilitators who are keen to develop their practice in leading inclusive dance in a supportive environment for disabled and non-disabled artists.
Internationally renowned disabled choreographer Marc Brew enjoys bringing people together to create a safe and brave space for people to take risks and be curious. Drawing on his unique perspective, methodology and skill of inclusive practice, Marc uses clear visual imagery, description and demonstrations in his teachings. He creates an accessible and trusting environment for each individual to explore their own creative possibilities through dance; exploring translation of existing material, improvisation and how to ensure movement concepts and ideas are inclusive to everybody. This workshop will be an opportunity to explore these methods and teaching approaches.
This workshop is open to anyone who is interested in inclusive work with disabled and non-disabled artists, educators and directors.
Please bring note-taking device (electronic or paper), come in loose comfortable clothing to move in, and a bottle of water.
